Yucca and Quillaja Extracts, both rich in saponins tannins and polyphenols, have many uses in agriculture. It has been reported that these components have the ability to control nematodes and certain fungi.

Yucca and Quillaja are composed of a myriad of phyto-chemicals and it is difficult to ascertain which of these compounds the active ingredient is. Nevertheless, saponins and polyphenols are probably responsible for most of the observed benefits of these extracts.
